Break the Stranglehold on Meat Monopolies

Corporate meat monopolies have rewritten the rules to make small to medium-scale ranching nearly impossible. Four corporations control the meat industry, two of which aren't even American. They determine the winners and losers not out of fair competition but out of oligarchical whims. With the feed market, buyers market, and slaughterhouse markets all monopolized, Texas ranchers went from making 40 cents per dollar for a pound of meat sold at the supermarket to less than 14 cents per dollar sold.
